Discographer Arthur Badrock had been collecting details about Mimosa records for many years, but was reluctant to publish his information while there were so many gaps. Arthur, sadly, passed away in 2009, but has passed on all his collected information on Mimosa records to me to try to carry on the good work.
I have finally decided to put all the information so far accumulated (mainly by Arthur) here as a label listing.
Note: Thank you to the
following people
who have e-mailed me with extra information. This is
most useful and I'm very grateful;
Peter Andrews, Robin Bratchley, Andy
Briggs, Paul
Buck, Matthew Chisholm, John
Clarke, John Culley, Bill Dean-Myatt, Brian Farey, Graham Farnell, Robert
Girling, Charles Hippisley-Cox, Maurice Holmes, David Houghton, Jayne Hughes,
Grahame Meachen, Jonathan Sanders, Tyrone Settlemier, Val van der Hoven, Geoff Wiggin, Peter Willats, Dave Woods
The first series is the M-100 series, which are either single-sided or coupled up single sided numbers.

Unusually, and possibly uniquely, the American recording on the first
side above is NOT an edited dub from a 10" master but a master
recording of a shortened arrangement. There is no vocal, so identification is tricky, but I have compared it with the 10" version which is apparently by Ben Selvin's orchestra and the band and "ambience" is quite different. |
