A 6" childrens' record from 1960s manufactured by Selcol in England. The source material was from America, and were issued on an equivalent childrens' record there, called Golden.
The UK Gala Goldentone records were pressed in orange/red plastic and sold in pictorial sleeves such as the one shown here. They were issued in the early 1960s and the reverse of the sleeve states that a series of 7" EP records were also available at 2/6, later 3/6. I don't know how much the 6" 78s were sold for.

I notice that one of those I have has 4/28/51 inscribed into the record, which I would take to be a date of April 28, 1951, implying that some or many of the recordings were up to 10 years old at the time they were issued on this label.

Please e-mail me if you have any additions or corrections to this page.

Most of this initial listing has been taken from the back of one of the sleeves, which just lists titles and catalogue numbers. If you can help with extra information, such as artists and numbers inscribed in the record, that would be very useful to me. Also, any information about additions to those I have listed would also be gratefully received.

Thanks to the following people who had sent me extra information: Paul Buck, Martin Gunton, Brian Kilner, Graham Lyle, Richard Prout
