This
is a
"shop" label, sold by Moorhouse of Padiham, Lancs. The
majority were stencilled from Edison Bell's Bell Disc, Winner or Velvet Face
records, but two other series use Beka/Lindstrom
masters (1200-catalogue numbers) and Grammavox masters (D-1 series).
According to a record packet seen, they cost 2/6. Exo records are rare and even the long-term research by Arthur Badrock and Frank Andrews has many gaps. |
My thanks to
Frank Andrews and the late
Arthur Badrock in providing
most of the information to start this page.
Please
e-mail
me if you can help me fill in the gaps
in any of these series.
My thanks to the following people who have sent extra information: Mike Atkin, Paul Buck, Paul Cleary, Dave Dixy, Graham Farnell, Norman Field, Robert Girling, Mike Langridge, Justin Macauley, Chris MacDonald, Adam Miller, Steve Northcott, Iain Petrie, Richard Prout, Paul Reeve, Chris Steward

Now, the series (believed to
be one series) with prefixes; it would appear that the prefixes designate the
type of performance:
A- = Band; B- = instrumental; C- = vocal; D- = popular &
comedy
NOTE that A-412 is the same as (plain) 412 in the above listing, so it it likley that the prefixed issues and the unprefixed issues are all one series.
