the site of an 18th century coaching inn called "The Gloucester
Coffee House", the hotel opened in 1886 and was originally called
"St James Hotel" before being renamed "The Berkeley" in 1897. The hotel closed in 1969, being rebuilt in Wilton Place, reopening 1972 |
